The People Have Spoken

Rachael Ray

Last night the winners were revealed in the People's Choice Awards. Did you tune in to catch what won Favorite TV Obsession (Dexter), or who was crowned Favorite Action Star (Jackie Chan)? For us, we were most excited about a brand new category for 2011: Favorite TV Chef.

This year's nominees in the category were Bobby Flay, Paula Deen, Rachael Ray, Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay. Who came away victorious?

According to Ray, she grew up in food. "My first vivid memory is watching my mom in a restaurant kitchen. She was flipping something with a spatula. I tried to copy her and ended up grilling my right thumb! I was 3 or 4," says Rachael, who insists cooking is a way of life she was simply born into. "Everyone on both sides of my family cooks."

She won the title of Favorite TV Chef for 2011, now find out why. Catch her on the Cooking Channel in her new show, Rachael Ray's Week in a Day, and in reruns of Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels. Or find her on our sister site, Food Network, whipping up 30 Minute Meals.
