Taste the Caribbean with Chef Gavin Kearney

Chef Gavin

With long hair, groovy Rastafarian hats and his laid back Caribbean vibe, Chef Gavin Kearney knows how to play it cool.  But when he’s hired to cater a homecoming bash for locals Colin and Barbara Reeve and their daughter Tammi, it’s time to turn up the heat. To find inspiration, Gavin travels all over his native St. Thomas, learning from organic farms, legendary Frenchtown fish markets, one-woman “Frenchie” style bakeries, and a luxury restaurant on a historical sugar mill plantation. Showcasing everything he learned along the way, Chef Gavin brings his new culinary tools to the table of the extravagant dinner at the Reeve’s Villa, exceeding even Tammi’s lofty expectations.

Don’t miss out on Chef Gavin’s island adventures and exotic recipes today at 1:30pm ET on Caribbean Vibes with Chef Gavin.

Green Thumb Farms

I really enjoyed watching Chef Gavin's show. However, i am disappointed about not being able to find his recipes. After watching his show, I went on your website for the first time, and have been on here for the past hour (Very Disappointing), and still can't find his recipes. Update the website with Chef Gavin's recipe Cooking Channel. He is great!!!!!!

I'm watching Chef Kearney's show now and am looking for a recipe or two from the show. Alas you don't seem to have any of his recipes. Please ask him top give up his Yellow Tail Snapper in Creole sauce and his Mango sauce recipes.

Your whole website is really lacking for recipes. There's a lot more cuisines out there than just:

    American
    Asian
    French
    Indian
    Italian
    Mexican

    I'm really disappointed.

  11. Debbie posted 10/17/2011

  12. Sharon posted 10/17/2011

Awesome show! Chef Gavin Kearney is wonderful! I really would like the recipes… the freshness and heart of the food displayed MUST be shared with all! Seriously! Caribbean food is a taste like no other and this is a good thing! Great that the Cooking Channel came out the box! Just share what you show! Thanks! :)

I am very inspired by him. "He's so good on the eyes". Being a St. Thomas native not only makes me proud and delighted in our cuisine, but also gives me the inspiration to introduce our food to others. I will definitely be cooking some pumpkin soup this week!

I learned so much about the islands during this show I didn't know before…good history and cooking! I want more episodes!!

  15. dauphin posted 10/17/2011

With this show and a few others I saw advertised over the weekend, it looks as though Cooking Channel IS bringing the cooking shows back. Thank the Gods.

I agree with everyone stating that Cooking Channel should have recipes for their shows, but not to be a snitch, there are other websites with these recipes. Just Google search them.

  16. Fran posted 10/18/2011

Okay, there is now one recipe! There were more am I not correct?

  17. Carol Ann posted 10/19/2011

Loved the show! St. Thomas is amazing and so is Chef Gavin. I can't wait to make his recipes and hope you put them on line soon. I am making the Snapper this weekend for the family. What a great addition to the Cooking Channel.

Where are the recipes Cooking Channel?? This was the first time I watched a show in its entirety and not only was the chef's name missing from the lineup, the recipes were too… ghastly horror. I love this guy! He's so laid back and easy and fun, it makes me want to try to cook fabulously too. Well done producers, or whomever found this gem of a chef.

  19. Doug Lax posted 10/22/2011

You really need to make this a permanent part of your lineup

  20. ES22 posted 10/24/2011
