Debi and Gabriele: Back for More

It has certainly been a while since Debi and I served you up new stories, new recipes and new family adventures. We’ve missed you, too! But your patience is about to be rewarded. We’re back on Wednesday night at 10:30pm ET / 7:30pm Pacific, and we’re bringing you a whole new season full of laughs, guests, and, of course, food; all that you’ve come to expect from your favorite Tuscan American-blended bunch, but there’s also been some changes, too...

Since last season, we’ve been traveling the U.S. on and off to meet fans and friends at the many food and wine festivals held across the country. We’ve had the honor and privilege of meeting, chatting with and getting to know many of you, and we are so happy and thankful by all the love and support we’ve received. It has also been a great excitement for us to get to know many of our fellow TV hosts from Cooking Channel and Food Network — what a great and friendly bunch they all are!

Taking a break from our whirlwind touring, we began filming season 2 of Extra Virgin... in a brand-new house. Warm and sunny, but at times still foreign — it has taken a little getting used to. Having brought with us the pizza oven, though, helped us feel at home almost right away.

You will also notice we are short a few family members. Our beloved Dolores, Ethel and Lucia are no longer with us. We lost Ethel, the chicken, to natural causes, Lucia, her sister, to the welcome party (a.k.a. L.A. raccoon population), and Dolores, our beloved pooch, passed away from old age. No question we loved the chickens, but it’s been particularly hard being back home after touring without Dolores. As we settle into our new home, we can’t help but keep picturing her enjoying the pool and sunshine, or expect to see her come running by, any second. She will be missed!

But this new season we’ve taken it up a notch with some exciting celebrity guests, a couple glitzy dinner parties, special events and, of course, plenty of the exciting, super Tuscanized dishes you've been craving and have been patiently waiting for. We’ve taste-tested our way through some of the best fresh markets, butcher shops, wineries, culinary hot spots, happening restaurants and cocktail bars L.A. has to offer, and we will be bringing it all to you to sample and enjoy along with us.

Best of all, we're making a trip back to Tuscany at the end of the new season — back to our old stomping grounds! We'll visit ancient mills, hundred-year-old farms, our favorite local eateries and grocers, and we will even get to spend some time lapping up the rays on the Mediterranean. Picture fresh branzino fish, caught right out of the sea and cooked beachside on the warm, coastal sands.

Make sure to pull up a chair, pour yourself a glass, and join us Wednesday night for our premiere episode. We hope you invited grandma for dinner!

We will introduce you to our new home and host a yard sale in our backyard for all our neighbors to attend. The pizza oven will be in full swing, appetizers will keep the shoppers happy and drinks will keep them spending.

Peace and pasta,
Gabriele
