Thirsty Thursday: The Drunken Donuts Cocktail

Drunken Donuts Cocktail

It’s more than just alliteration; it’s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too.

Last week we shared a recipe for our Silk Sheets Cocktail; this week we’re back with something even edgier.

All this nippy weather has us pining for warmer days, too, but rather than resent the heavy sweaters and itchy scarfs, embrace the cold by coddling a drink that truly embodies the season. With espresso vodka and coffee liqueur, Alie and Georgia’s Drunken Donuts Cocktail isn’t only exactly what you’ll want, it’s exactly the sort of concoction you’ll need this time of year. Sweet, boozy and supped up with a donut for garnish, don’t be surprised if you find yourself reaching for a few more round guys to dunk in. Bottoms up, folks.

The Drunken Donuts Cocktail
1 serving

Ingredients:
2 ounces espresso vodka
1 ounce chocolate liqueur
1 ounce coffee liqueur
2 ounces chilled or room temperature coffee
Splash of hazelnut coffee creamer
Donut hole, for garnish

Directions:
In a shaker with ice, add espresso vodka, chocolate and coffee liqueurs, coffee and creamer and shake until mixed and creamy. Pour into mugs. Slice a donut hole halfway through, and perch on the lip of the mug. Reward yourself by taking the day off work.

Wow, I did not know that you spike the coffee. Not a bad idea if your not driving!

There is no Mr. Dunkin… It was named after what people use to do is dunkin their donuts in the coffee. See they would serve you 2 day old donuts that were hard a rock and dunking them soften them up… It all started in New York city
