The Slow Cook Book by Heather Whinney is a treasure trove of about 200 slow-cooker recipes ranging from stews and casseroles to curries and roasts and even desserts.
And anyone who has ever scooped gray veggies out of their slow cooker (guilty!) will appreciate her chapter on slow-cooker techniques, complete with step-by-step photos and how-tos. I use my slow cooker for everything from roasts to soups and everything in between, but I think my favorite thing to make is yogurt. It tastes great, and it is much cheaper than store bought.
I'd be slow cooking some spicy, lowfat black bean chili with chicken! It is something I make for our annual office chili party day. It is so good!
