Louisiana Love: Enter to Win The Lucky One on Blu-ray

Shrimp and Grits

What's your favorite Louisiana-inspired comfort food?

What’s better than Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling sharing a moment in the kitchen? Easy: Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling sharing a moment in the kitchen over jambalaya.

In Warner Brothers‘ spring 2012 blockbuster “The Lucky One,” U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive—a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t know. When he finds out her name and where she lives, he shows up at her door. Rather than spoil the rest, we’ll give you a heads up:  a luscious Louisiana meal ensues, and it involves one of our favorite Cajun dishes: Jambalaya.

Which got us thinking… Efron finds his lucky charm in Louisiana — can you can find yours in its cuisine?

Banana's Foster, hands down. My mom has the recipe in an old cookbook originating from Brennan's. I personally do not know anyone, including those who do not care for bananas, that has not loved this dessert.

Being born in New Orleans and raised along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and now living in the Mid-Atlantic, I would most definitely serve the Cajun Shrimp Po'boys. We don't have Po-boy bread here, we have sub rolls, and I sure do miss my french bread when it comes to making a shrimp po'boy.

Beignets with Blackberry Jam would do the trick, the fried goodness of the beignets paired with the blackberry jam would remind anyone of just being a kid at home on a weekend enjoying a warm donut!

SO hard to choose. The beignets with homemade blackberry jam make me think of my grandmother who made the most wonderful blackberry jam. The smell when she cooked the berries was magical. Sausage, peppers and shrimp with cheesy grits is also tempting, but I really prefer just shrimp, shrimp and more shrimp. Speaking of shrimp, that Po-Boy would be sooooo good with a frosty cold beer. (Don't tell Grandma I'm drinking beer!)

I caught my man by feeding him beef, and a lot of it! He said men aren't supposed to live on salad! So, I'd feed him Cajun Blackened Steak with Sugar Snap Peas so that I could make him happy and give him something good for him at the same time.
