Lunch Recipes Your Coworkers Will Try to Steal

We’ve all been there — your coworker starts heating up their lunch, a delicious scent wafts through the office and you look down at your ham and cheese sandwich with regret. Well, here’s our #1 tip to fight lunchtime envy (or create your own): Add global flavors to your brown bag meal.

It’s Global Week on Cooking Channel (find out when to tune in for international eats here) and we’re celebrating with our five favorite lunch recipes with global flavor:

Get the Recipe: Braised Chicken (Dak Dori Tang) (pictured above)

We love being able to marinate and then cook in the same pot. This spicy braised chicken tastes even better the next day, so turn tonight’s dinner into tomorrow’s lunch.

Get the Recipe: Spicy Chicken Lettuce Wraps (Larb Gai)

Lime juice and fresh mint give this dish a clean and citrusy taste, making it perfect for a light lunch or appetizer.

Get the Recipe: Potato Beer Soup

Potatoes and beer, two German favorites, create a perfect pair in this traditional soup, which is quick and easy to make. Bonus: Oktoberfest begins Sept 22nd, so plan to make this soup the night before and kick it off right.

Get the Recipe: Caprese di Farro

Combine nutty, earthy farro with kalamata olives and the classic Italian tomato, basil and mozzarella combo. Cook the farro al dente so it doesn’t become mushy and it will stay nicely for the next day’s lunch.

Get the Recipe: Fajitas Recipe

For this fresh version of a Mexican restaurant favorite, flank steak is marinated in a mixture of citrus and spice, and then grilled up along with peppers and onions. Pack the steak, peppers and onions together and bring along your favorite toppings and tortillas separately.
