Found in Translation coverThe 33-billion-dollar translation industry plays a major roll in the food business. But some product names don’t always translate well to appeal to a global market. That’s why candies like the Czech “Plopp”, Belgian “Big Nuts”, Japanese “Creamy Ball” or Bra (a Swedish yogurt) would never be huge sellers in the United States. International experts on translation and interpreting Nataly Kelly and Jost Zetzsche have gone behind the scenes of the food industry and beyond to uncover the profound effect translation has on our everyday lives. The answers are in their new book “Found in Translation: How Translation Shapes Our Lives and Transforms the World.”

We’re giving away two copies of the book to two lucky winners. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite dish from our Best International Recipes guide.
