Get Our Thanksgiving Post-Turkey Coma Playlist

Thanksgiving is hectic (driving long stretches in brutal traffic, re-engaging with in-laws, dealing with screaming kids and then in many cases stopping for a 15-minute sprint to stuff ourselves silly.)

That's why in our family, who take our music as seriously as we take our food, we try to take a deep breath, sit down and really listen. We have a post-meal Thanksgiving tradition, as we revel in our food comas: We listen to and talk about the music that inspires us to be grateful. Some of us who are more musically inclined may even perform a song on the guitar or piano. Mostly, though, we've just taken to bringing out our iPods and playing songs that reflect our feelings of gratitude toward each other, remembering aloud what we are thankful for and in some cases calling up favorite songs that help us enjoy even more the food coma.

I've put together the perfect soundtrack for the Thanksgiving "food coma." Put this list on, chill with the family, be thankful … and pass out.
