When it comes to perfecting a technique, learning more about a topic, or just watching molten chocolate ooze from the center of a cake, nothing gets the job done like a video. We have plenty of great videos that show you exactly how to prepare our most popular dishes, plus introduce you to good-to-know tips and even the world of food comedy. Plus, did you know our videos can take you to Foodtopia?
Here are the 5 most popular Cooking Channel videos for 2012:
#5: Classic Italian Lasagna in 1 Minute
What’s better than Giada’s recipe for Cheesy Italian Lasagna? Nothing, except maybe this video which demos the easy steps you need to make it (complete with cheesy Italian trattoria music) in only one minute. Check out all of our in-one-minute videos here. So what are you waiting for? Go make this already.
#4: Pommes De Terre A La Boulangere: Potatoes A La Bakery
Discover the secrets to Laura Calder‘s fabulous and popular 5-star potatoes in this video. Watching Laura cooking makes us want to travel to France. But if you have no immediate plans for a stopover in Paris, watch the video, make the recipe and prepare to be transported.
#3: Eggs 101: Hard- and Soft-Boiled
Have you ever wondered how to make the perfect egg? Look no further. This video shows you how to prepare hard- and soft-boiled eggs which can be enjoyed on their own, or in delicious recipes like deviled eggs.
#2: Oven-Fried Chicken
Are you surprised that Ellie’s recipe for healthy fried chicken, made in the oven, is our second most popular video of the year? We’re not. With a crispy, flavorful crust and easy prep method sans big greasy pots of oil, we love this video that shows you the secrets to a healthy meal makeover.
#1: Braised Pork Tacos
It comes as no surprise that these flavorful, incredibly tender pork tacos from Rachael Ray clock in as the number one video of the year. After the pork cooks for three hours in a flavorful braising liquid, Rachael adds a few secret ingredients and then reduces the sauce to maximize it’s vinegary and spicy flavor. Before serving, Rachael shreds the pork with two forks and puts it back into the “flavor hot-tub” before piling it into tacos and finishing with the perfect toppings. We’re in taco-love!
