They say you aren’t supposed to cry over spilled milk, but perhaps you can now,um, ribbit? Scientists from Moscow State University have discovered that frog skin secretions help milk from going bad.
The secret is a series of recently unearthed antibiotic compounds that are found in the secretions. When added to milk, voila, it’ll be fit to drink long past the “enjoy on” date. Of course, you have to drink said milk with the knowledge that it is intermingled with slime. Maybe you are better off just buying a new gallon.
Frogs have built up the secretions through centuries of having to defend against micro-organisms. It ain’t easy being green, after all.
UPDATE: This claim has been busted. Thanks, PhysicsPolice!
