The biggest challenge was actually getting these items back into my kitchen. Once I replaced the cookies with a big bowl of clementines, it was easy and I really enjoyed having snacks on hand that weren’t accompanied with any guilt. Not to mention, I feel better throughout the day! Whether you pack a snack for the office or you try to make one easily accessible at home, these five suggestions have been my favorite as I’ve kicked off a healthier 2013:
This sweet citrus is so delicious that you might just trick yourself into thinking that you’re eating candy. I easily enjoy 1/2 a dozen of these a day.
2. Roasted Nuts
It’s no secret that a handful of nuts are an ideal snack for a quick energy boost.
3. Sweet Potato Chips
To combat a potato chip craving this crunchy snack is more flavorful and so delicious.
4. Frozen Grapes
I like to always keep a container of grapes in my freezer. Something about them being frozen makes them more tasty to me and I also like to have them on hand to toss in my smoothies.
Popcorn is popping up on all sorts of trend lists for 2013 and I’m a huge fan – especially when smartly seasoned to make flavor profiles more interesting.
