Real-Life Central Perk Cafe Opens in Beijing

It really is true what they say about life imitating art. The iconic and very fake Central Perk Cafe from Friends is now very real. A pop culture-obsessed entrepreneur in Beijing has recently opened this homage to Rachel, Chandler and the gang, making us wish we lived closer to China.

The attention to detail here is aces. The cafe features the same large window as seen on the TV show and the exact same entry way. It even has the same familiar couch where Phoebe said lots of stupid things or Joey, um, also said lots of stupid things. Du Xin, the owner/superfan, even demands to be called Gunther while on the job.

Like we said, you’ll have to book an expensive plane ticket to China in order to experience this cafe in all of its grandeur. In the meantime, there’s always the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
