Today in ridiculously priced consumables comes a new contender for the most expensive cocktail ever mixed. Australian bartender Joel Heffernan has concocted something so ridiculous that it costs nearly $13,000 for just one glass.
What’s in this monstrosity? Two nips of an 1858 Croizet cognac, some Grand Marnier Quintessence, Chartreuse Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolonge, a smidgen of Angostura Bitters and some chocolate nutmeg dust just for the heck of it. Sure the price tag is off the wall, but the cognac alone costs $157,000 per bottle. Also, the ingredients of this drink have so many syllables that it just has to be worth it.
This cocktail is so luxurious and expensive that it has just smashed the previous record for world’s most expensive drink, which was a paltry $9,000 for a glass. Nine thousand bucks?! Please, you can only buy a pretty decent car for that much.
