The Barista Bot, created by Hypersonic and Rock Paper Robot will make you a latte topped with the best art of all, a recreation of your face. It works by using real time data analysis of facial characteristics. The result? Your beautiful mug staring up at you from inside a beautiful mug. It’s enough to get the narcissist in us a bit weepy.
This caffeinated automaton premiered at last week’s SXSW festival in Austin, Texas as a marketing stunt for General Electric. It hasn’t been programmed to make flowers yet so you baristas out there can breathe a sigh of relief. Your jobs are still here. For now.
