Japanese Confectionary Releases Gum Aimed Toward Women Over 50

When you think of gum chewers, you might initially imagine a rambunctious kid on a baseball field or Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. You don’t necessarily think of those beyond middle age. One Japanese confectionary, however, is trying to change that.

Lotte, who do a whole lot more than just make candy, have prepped a duo of gum flavors aimed toward women over 50. The flavors, translated to Elegant Mint and Fragrant Breath, apparently taste like flowers. This is no surprise as they are described of having a “hint of peony.” Also, the gum is made to be extra soft so as not to hurt the pathetic, ailing teeth of a 51 year old woman.

If 50 is the new 40, doesn’t that make 40 the new 30 and so on down the list? Something tells me the old gum is just fine. If your curiosity is piqued, however, you can check your local Asian imports shop as a pack shouldn’t set you back more than a few bucks.
