France Gets Its Very Own Ratatouille-themed Restaurant

Who doesn’t love Pixar’s movies? They’ve pretty much set the standard of what a modern animated feature can aspire to. That opening scene of Up? Yowza. The first half of Wall-E? Ha cha cha. Of course, to foodies, the studio’s crowning achievement was no doubt Ratatouille, the story of a rat who becomes a first-class chef. Now France, the birthplace of modern cuisine, gets to have its very own restaurant based on the popular flick.

The Ratatouille bistro, named Le Bistrot de Rémy, will be adjacent to Disneyland Paris’s upcoming ride based on the movie. This isn’t some crappy fast food joint capitalizing on the name, however. World famous French chef Paul Bocuse has been enlisted to develop the menu and act as managing partner. Of course, there is no guarantee that it’ll be Bocuse actually in the kitchen and not a group of skilled and lovable vermin.

The restaurant and ride are both scheduled to open later in the year.
