Hump Day Snack: Chipotle-Chocolate Bark

By: Amanda Marsteller

Need a last minute V-day gift this week or a spicy-sweet pick-me-up that's just for you and you alone? Chocolate bark is the snazzy yet simple solution on both fronts. It's easy to make, requires just a handful of ingredients and is endlessly customizable to your taste. Plus, it looks purty when haphazardly broken into shards and piled in a tin. The  recipe for this Valentine-appropriate marbled bark layers chipotle powder-laced dark chocolate with pink and white chocolate melting wafers, all dotted with chopped almonds and a sprinkling of flaked sea salt. You can sub in your favorite nuts or another spice instead, but the chipotle powder adds an unusual smokiness and slow heat that rises in the back of your throat (in the best possible way).

For even more chocolate-packed treats to sink your teeth into this week, try these other desserts that beg to be devoured in double (or triple) portions:
