Here's a Coffee Shop That Runs Entirely on the Honor System

Are human beings inherently good or just mean-spirited animals constantly looking to get one up on everyone else around them? You could pore through centuries of research from the greatest human minds, or you could just set up a coffee shop that works on the honor system.

A North Dakota coffee shop called The Vault opted for the latter approach. This cafe has zero employees. Customers come up, pour their own coffee, get their own wi-fi password and pay for their bill without being asked. It's not just coffee, either. The shop also offers pastries, ice cream and other treats all for the taking (muhahaha.) There is a self serve credit card machine and even a slot to deposit checks. They really have thought of everything.

And, in case you are wondering, the coffee shop has been extremely successful and its patrons have been extremely honest and forthright. Yay humanity!
