How to Have a Celeb-Worthy Memorial Day BBQ Bash

Related To:

Even though there is still almost a month until summer hits, we'll get a taste of it on Memorial Day — a day off that's filled with fun in the sun. Whether you're gathering friends in your backyard, at the beach or at a campsite, make this holiday special with a memorable, flavor-packed party.

Instead of just throwing hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill and buying some macaroni salad, pump things up with barbecue ribs, charred vegetables and savory sides that everyone will be talking about all summer. To achieve this level of greatness, we turned to our favorite stars who know a thing or two about throwing a celebrity-worthy bash. Check out some tips and tricks from Tiffani Thiessen, Tia Mowry, Haylie Duff and more below, and get ready to fire up that grill.

Appetizer: Debi and Gabriele's Grilled Apricots and Goat Cheese

To impress guests with a unique appetizer, take a cue from Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos and top grilled apricots with creamy goat cheese. The sweet and salty combination is even better when served on grilled bread.

Salad: Haylie's Lemon Dijon Market Salad

This fresh and easy salad is a crowd-pleaser and also incorporates goat cheese like your appetizer. The lemon-Dijon dressing is tangy and goes well on any vegetables in case you want to add more than just lettuce and spicy radishes.

Main Course: Tiffani's Barbecue Ribs

Cooking these barbecue ribs in the oven first will give you tender, fall-off-the-bone meat without slow smoking all day. Actual grilling time? About 10 minutes to get a perfect char.

Put a fancy spin on your barbecue with  Tia's lamb chops. With herbs de Provence and mint flavoring the dish and a quick cooking time, this flavorful dish is on the picnic table in no time.

Why not fire up the grill for your sides, too? Rev Run's flavorful asparagus with zucchini and squash is as gorgeous as it is delicious.

Dessert: Haylie's Banana Boats

This easy dessert lets everyone have some fun with their food. Just split bananas, add crushed candy bars, nuts, marshmallows or anything that strikes your fancy, and melt on the grill. Pro tip: Add ice cream at the end to make these banana boats into banana splits.
