As the weather outside gets frightful and the sound of jingle bells draws closer, it's time to prepare for the holiday season. While you're lazily hibernating inside as the snow falls outside, you can also actively get ready for big family dinners with Cooking Channel's impressive programming lineup through December.

This year, we have new specials from YouTube's Nerdy Nummies host Rosanna Pansino as she tackles a holiday edition of Ro's Tasty Treats, plus a brand-new episode of Unwrapped 2.0 that uncovers the mysteries of candy canes and canned cranberry sauce. If you're in the mood for old favorites, hosts like G. Garvin, Chuck Hughes, Nadia G, Rev Run and many more will share their Christmas and Hanukkah recipes and entertaining secrets. Haters of Grandma's fruitcake, listen up: Marc Summers wants to show you the truth behind the divisive Christmas cake. If the dense dessert doesn't get you excited, he'll also show how glazed honey hams get torched to perfection, reveal the story of Jewish chocolate gelt and explain why Korbel's champagne is so poppin'.

Holiday Helpings Unwrapped – Friday, Dec. 11 at 8pm ET

Another dose of holiday food gets unwrapped, and this time, it's even sweeter. Find out the secrets behind Sara Lee Cheesecake and Dove Chocolate, why ugly pumpkins make the best pie and much more.

All-Star Holiday Special: A Taste of Home —  Saturday, Dec. 12 at 5pm ET

Ain't no party like a Cooking Channel party, and many of your favorites — Bobby Deen, Nadia G, Roger Mooking, Kelsey Nixon, Aarti Sequeira, G. Rev Run's Happy Holidays — Saturday, Dec. 12 at 8pm ET

Feel like you're part of the Simmons family as Rev Run and his wife, Justine Simmons, make multiple holiday meals. They kick things off with a make-ahead family brunch, then move on to baking Ninjabread Men Cookies, making a hot cocoa bar and tackling a decadent prime rib dinner.

Nadia G's Bitchin' Holiday Special — Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 7am ET

Nadia G makes an outrageous and unforgettable Christmas feast with her spin on the Feast of the Seven Fishes. The not-so-traditional smorgasbord of food has an international twist  and a theme song.
