Get Our Holiday Party Playlist

It’s that time again: Holiday parties. Everyone is throwing one over the next few weeks. And we all know that, besides free-flowing booze and tasty treats, without the perfect soundtrack everyone will be looking at their watches and eyeing the exit door.

We are all about entertaining and designing the ideal sound for our guests, but when it comes to holiday music, everyone has their favorite. With a plethora of music available (everyone from  Bing Crosby to Marilyn Manson has recorded a Christmas tune), a good holiday list is actually a really difficult one to put together.

We gathered some classic holiday tunes as well as a few modern tracks to help get you started. Now put your own touches on the list and play it at your holiday party.

What songs did we miss? What songs do you want added? What makes your perfect holiday list?

Get Our Thanksgiving Post-Turkey Coma Playlist

Thanksgiving is hectic (driving long stretches in brutal traffic, re-engaging with in-laws, dealing with screaming kids and then in many cases stopping for a 15-minute sprint to stuff ourselves silly.)

That’s why in our family, who take our music as seriously as we take our food, we try to take a deep breath, sit down and really listen. We have a post-meal Thanksgiving tradition, as we revel in our food comas: We listen to and talk about the music that inspires us to be grateful. Some of us who are more musically inclined may even perform a song on the guitar or piano. Mostly, though, we’ve just taken to bringing out our iPods and playing songs that reflect our feelings of gratitude toward each other, remembering aloud what we are thankful for and in some cases calling up favorite songs that help us enjoy even more the food coma.

I’ve put together the perfect soundtrack for the Thanksgiving “food coma.” Put this list on, chill with the family, be thankful … and pass out.

Caramel Apples – “Lost” – Coldplay & Jay-Z

Only Coldplay’s Chris Martin & foodie wife Gwyneth Paltrow could get away with naming their daughter Apple. Is it because they are crazy for Caramel Apples? I think so. Take a listen to this great track with a guest appearance by Jay-Z, and try your best not to get your hands sticky with this great recipe.
