Thirsty Thursday: Sink Into a Silk Sheets Cocktail

Silk Sheets Cocktail

It’s more than just alliteration; it’s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too.

Last week we shared a recipe for our Sparkling Wine Sangria Cocktail; this week we’re back with another refreshing sip for you to savor.

When unusual pairings come together in perfect harmony it’s nearly impossible not to get excited. And that’s exactly what makes the Silk Sheets Cocktail so intriguing. With strawberries, balsamic vinegar and gin as its base, the sweet and tangy sip affords an exotic experience, even before a luxurious coat of St. Germain foam is added over the top. Ideal after a long day, it’s just as refreshing when sipped on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Bottoms up, folks.

Sparkling Wine Sangria

Last week we shared a recipe for our Prosecco Gold Rush Cocktail; this week we’re back with another bubbly-based concoction to ring in the new year.

When the clock strikes midnight, you can toast with the usual champagne or, better yet, try something new. Raise a glass of sweet, peach-infused sangria made with Cava, a Spanish sparkling wine. A celebration of all things festive, the Sparkling Wine Sangria combines two classic cocktails into one “ooo” and “ahh”-inspiring sip. Bottoms up, folks.

Thirsty Thursday: Jamie Oliver’s Christmas Spirit Cocktail

Christmas Spirit Cocktail

It’s more than just alliteration; it’s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too. Last time we toasted with a Ginger Cranberry Cocktail; this week we’re back with something even better suited for the holidays.

Festive little guys, few foods pack as much holiday cheer as pomegranate seeds. Each bite bursts with sweet pomegranate juice — bright red and beaming — imbuing dishes and drinks with a distinctly Christmas-time feel. It’s no wonder then that Jamie Oliver chose them to star in his Christmas Spirit Cocktail. Simple and easy, all it takes is ice cold tequila (preferably silver), a frosty (shot) glass and a handful of pomegranate seeds. Just make sure you’ve crunched the pomegranate seeds before downing your drink. Bottoms up, folks.

Thirsty Thursday: Go For a Ginger Cranberry Cocktail

It’s more than just alliteration; it’s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too. Last time we warmed you up with a Mulled Cider; this week we’re back with something even better suited for the holidays.

Dotted with frozen cranberries and brimming with its beautiful, deep red hue, the Ginger Cranberry Cocktail is the sort of sip that looks as holiday-inspired as it tastes. Take a healthy serving of vodka, club soda, cranberry juice and lime, stir it all together with homemade ginger syrup, and you’ve elevated your average vodka cocktail to a concoction worthy of the season. Top it off with a sliver of shaved ginger or two and you’re ready to go. Bottoms up, folks.

Thirsty Thursday: Orange Mojito

Orange Mojito

Thursdays are when the weekend should really start, and what better way than with a cocktail? Last week we warmed up with a bubbly Blissini; this week we’re back with another cocktail to lighten up that Thanksgiving table.

With trees now nearly bare and autumn leaves left strewn all across the ground, sipping on something orange and alcoholic is our recommendation for toasting to the last bits of fall. With an overdose of fresh oranges and few sprigs of fresh mint for contrast, this exotic mojito is what you should be holding when admiring all that colorful foliage from indoors. So shake yourself up a glass, a pitcher if your hosting, or an entire barrel if it’s for your Thanksgiving feast, and lap up the last drops of fall. Bottoms up, folks.

Thirsty Thursday: Sip on a Spiced Cabernet

Spiced Cabernet
It’s more than just alliteration; it’s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too. Last week we rounded out Halloween with a gruesome Zombie Cocktail; now that it’s November we’re plunging head-first into the fall.

Leaves are gathering on lawns, crunching up side by side in colorful piles, and it’s getting cold! Cold enough to wear sweaters, comfy socks and knitted hats, lie under blankets and hold something warm and alcoholic between your hands. With cinnamon, orange and clove, our Spiced Cabernet is ideal for autumn days and nights. So heat up a pot, ladle it into a round of mugs and toast to the season. Bottoms up, folks.

Thirsty Thursday: The Vampire Cocktail

The Vampire Cocktail
It’s more than just alliteration; it’s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too. Last week we stirred up a gruesome Zombie Gut Punch Cocktailthis week we’re back with one last harrowing hurrah for Halloween.

Dracula may not have been the brains behind this boozy sip, but boy would he have loved to wrap his fangs around a glass or two. With bloody red streaks of grenadine set against a white creme de cacao, triple sec and vanilla ice cream background, The Vampire Cocktail is appropriate all Halloween weekend-long. So pour yourself a glass, a pitcher if you’re hosting friends, and help usher in Halloween and all its glory a little early this year. Bottoms up, folks.

Thirsty Thursday: Get Down with a Zombie Gut Punch

Zombie Gut Punch

It’s more than just alliteration; it’s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too. Last week we stirred up a boozy Halloween-inspired Zombie Cocktailthis week we’re back with something even more bloody good.

As far as Alie and Georgia are concerned, deciding what to drink for Halloween is just as important as choosing a costume. But as with anything else that pertains to the most sinister of holidays, sipping on any old cocktail simply won’t due. Cue the Zombie Gut Punch.

With blood orange juice, cherry soda and grenadine, their spiked punch is not only red enough to lure an entire city’s worth of blood-sucking zombies, but boozy enough to send them all stumbling home. So stir some up tonight, tomorrow, all weekend long or Sunday night while watching The Walking Dead.  Bottoms up, folks.

Thirsty Thursday: Get Down with a Zombie Cocktail

It’s more than just alliteration; it’s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too. Last week we stirred up an October-inspired Black Devil Martinithis week we’re back with something even spookier for you to sip on.

While jack-o-lanterns, skeletons and spider webs find their way into (and onto) homes around the country, up your Halloween game this year with some zombie-inspired imbibing. Orange juice, apricot brandy and a dash of grenadine give this ghastly cocktail its eerie, October-appropriate hue, and three types of rum vow to work wonders in the late afternoon, evening or nighttime. So pour yourself a glass, or make it a pitcher if you’re hosting friends. Bottoms up, folks.
