10 Things You Need to Know About Food Festivals (and How to Survive Them)

Around the Cooking Channel and Food Network offices, everyone is gearing up for this weekend’s 7th annual New York City Wine & Food Festival, beginning tonight. For four days, NYC will be taken over by food industry innovators cooking, speaking and feeding folks at nearly 100 different events across the city. From all-American classics like pulled pork sandwiches and sloppy joes to much fancier fare that included olive oil-filled chocolate bastoncinos and duck, pork and crawfish boudin, there was no shortage of variety.

While the leftovers have long since gone sour, there’s still plenty of food porn to feast your eyes on. Check out our favorite pics from the food fest.

Sometimes life is hard, but last weekend wasn’t one of those times: Cooking Channel staff ate their way through a sea of local Miami restaurant stalls and sipped on world-class wine during this year’s Wine and Food Festival Grand Tasting — all on the white sands of South Beach, Miami.

Now that we’re back to colder weather and cubicles, we’re dreaming up ways to continue the “South Beach Diet” at home. Now you can, too!

See what we liked, what we didn’t like, and how to cook up South Beach-inspired fare in your own kitchen.
