Family recipes are passed down from generation to generation, but if your relatives are more about frozen dinners and boxed mac and cheese, try some of the Pritchett family’s ideas instead. In the new Modern Family cookbook, the whole gang is sharing favorite foods — the Dunphys’ famous meatloaf, Gloria’s empanadas, Stella the dog’s peanut butter and bacon cupcakes, and more. And the selection is as diverse and exciting as our favorite hilarious blended family.

Nadia G makes sure to add style to everything she does, from her recipes to her outfits to her kitchen. That’s because, in order, she likes great food, looking hot and cooking in a place that has as much flavor as the food she prepares in it. The latter is the subject of her new web series Sick Kitchen on our sister site Ulive. She travels around to people’s houses, tells them their kitchens are tacky and cluttered, and then revamps them with inspired decor and slamming new appliances.
Now through June 16, you can give your own kitchen a bit of Nadia G’s sick style by entering the Sick Kitchens sweepstakes. We’ve teamed up with Ulive to give away a sweet fridge and range (in the colors of your choice) from Elmira Stove Works to one lucky winner. Check out Sick Kitchens and then enter to win now.
You can enter twice a day — once here and once on Ulive.

The story behind The Fabulous Beekman Boys is touching and funny, and worth the time to learn. The stripped-down version is that a successful New York City couple, Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge, take a trip upstate, happen upon a dormant but beautiful 19th century farmhouse for sale, and decide to use it as a weekend getaway to make goats’ milk soap as a hobby. They both get laid off, so they have to figure out how to use the farm to make a living (an undergoing that involves raising tons of goats, fixing up a 210-year-old house, launching a brand and trying not to let their long-term relationship buckle under the pressure.) The rest of the story unfolds when The Fabulous Beekman Boys premieres Thursday, September 20, at 10pm ET on Cooking Channel.

What's your favorite Louisiana-inspired comfort food?
What’s better than Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling sharing a moment in the kitchen? Easy: Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling sharing a moment in the kitchen over jambalaya.
In Warner Brothers‘ spring 2012 blockbuster “The Lucky One,” U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive—a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t know. When he finds out her name and where she lives, he shows up at her door. Rather than spoil the rest, we’ll give you a heads up: a luscious Louisiana meal ensues, and it involves one of our favorite Cajun dishes: Jambalaya.
Which got us thinking… Efron finds his lucky charm in Louisiana — can you can find yours in its cuisine?
