They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and Ching-He Huang is on the hunt to find out exactly how big and bold the barbecue is in Fort Worth on her new show Eat the Nation. The Easy Chinese and Restaurant Redemption host’s first adventure includes smoking her first brisket at Billy’s Oak Acres BBQ, checking out strapping cowboys at ranches and rodeos, and enjoying copious amounts of cowboy cuisine.
Watch Ching-He gallop on up to Texas cuisine on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 10:30pm ET.
Connie Britton knows her way around a Southern accent, and her time on the sets of Friday Night Lights (in Austin) and Nashville (in, well, Nashville) have taught her about great local cuisine, too.
When we caught up with the actress at the Empire State Building lighting in honor of the 2015 Global Citizen Festival in New York, she took us on a food tour of two of her favorite cities, and shared the memories she has of “hazy” afternoons drinking margaritas in Texas and lounging on the back patios of Tennessee haunts.
If that’s not enough for y’all, we also chatted with some of her other Friday Night Lights costars – check out their favorite Austin eats here. Clear eyes, full hearts (and stomachs), can’t lose.

See you in Austin!
This hungry traveler is eating her way through U.S. cities and exploring their international restaurant scenes.
Ever wish you could travel the world, feeding your appetite for international cuisine one country at a time? After graduating culinary school, Eden Grinshpan spent seven years exploring the globe, eating her way across the map. We know — we’re jealous, too.
Once back stateside, Eden longed for the varied flavors and rich stories she consumed while traveling. But she soon realized she didn’t need a passport, because a world’s worth of flavors are in her — and your — backyard. They don’t call it the “melting pot” for nothin’.
